In Italy, student-athletes compete in a unique club-based system, which offers significant advantages over the traditional NCAA model. Unlike the U.S., where the season is limited to one semester, the Italian club system runs for a full 9 months, allowing athletes to engage in a more spread-out and consistent competition schedule. This extended season gives our student-athletes more time to develop their skills, recover between matches, and stay in peak form throughout the year.
At Rome City Institute, our athletes are not just limited to collegiate-level competition. They have the opportunity to compete against top-level club athletes in Italy, gaining valuable experience and exposure in their respective sports. Guided by our experienced coaches and staff, our student-athletes are fully immersed in the Italian sporting culture, competing in local, regional, and national competitions.
