ECL is Rome City Institute's house-based community and competition system. Every student is drafted into one of four houses, and every point is earned through athletics, season after season.

The Empire Collegiate League (ECL) is where glory echoes through eternity. Born from the legacy of Rome, four houses rise and clash in fierce battle across relentless competitions.
When you enter the ECL, you do not just play, you swear allegiance for life. At Rome City Institute, champions are not made, they are forged in fire.
Newcomers are scouted, then placed into a house through a snake-draft run by the ECL Commissioners board and head coaches. Once drafted, a student stays with that house for good.
Two seasons a year — Fall (September–December) and Spring (January–May). Each team faces three houses per sport before the playoffs.
League tables set the playoff seeding. Two rounds of playoffs decide who reaches the Final in each sport.
House points from every sport combine into one table. The house with the most points after the Playoff Finals is crowned that season's ECL House Champion.
Points in the ECL come exclusively from athletic competition — every match, every set and every race adds to your house's tally.
A win is worth 3 points. Soccer ties are worth 1 point each; basketball goes to overtime and volleyball to a tiebreak to decide a winner.
The house that finishes 1st in a sport's league table earns 8 combined ECL points; 2nd place earns 4.
League standings set playoff seeding. Two rounds of playoffs in every sport lead to a Final.
Each sport awards 10 points for 1st place, 6 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd and 0 for 4th toward the overall House table.
Awarded to the Fall and Spring House Champion every season, the ECL Cup is custom-produced by Iaco Group — the official trophy manufacturer trusted by UEFA for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League trophies.
